San Diego County’s unemployment rate plunged sharply to 3.7 percent in August – its lowest point this year – as the local economy continued to outpace the state and nation as an engine of job growth.
Fueled by new hiring in professional services, construction, hotels and restaurants, the county added 4,200 jobs in August.
