New La Jolla tourism campaign

November 30th, 2004 · No Comments

La Jolla, 92037 is set to launch a new tourism promotional campaign

La Jolla’s business improvement district, along with local restaurants, is launching an advertising strategy to expand on European themes, aiming to retain the tourist pull to the famous Village and Cove. The campaign will include a $250,000 investment focusing on regaining attention to the ‘Jewel’ that La Jolla has long been considered.

Distracted by developments downtown, including San Diego’s newest – Petco Park, tourists are finding other areas of the city to visit and spend money. La Jolla and its local business owners hope that this costly European flair will bring back the overflow of tourists that the ‘Jewel’ has always been used to.

More competition abounds further north, where Orange County discusses a $15 million promotional campaign to draw tourists further north. As travel slows just after the holiday season, now is a strategically significant time to implement new ideas for keeping tourists about the streets of Downtown La Jolla.
