Environmental Protection Agency rates air quality improvements: San Diego made the top 10, in the country’s ” most improved air quality index” report, published by the Pacific Research and American Enterprise Institute’s.
There are 94 metropolitan areas with a population of more than 500,000 that have been monitored over a 12 year period the areas tested are air and water quality testing for toxins, climate change, land management, habitat & species land conservation/protection and forest growth. With the improved testing technology over the past decade the readings are somewhat different.
Now these groups of San Diego residents can breathe a lot easier: Pediatric Asthma: 63,735 Adult Asthma: 183,383 Chronic Bronchitis: 85,592 Emphysema: 29,435 Cardiovascular Disease: 682,801 Diabetes: 134,659
