The City of Carlsbad is a unique coastal community located 35 miles north of the City of San Diego - it was incorporated on July 16th, 1952. This beautiful area is surrounded by mountains, lagoons and the Pacific Ocean. This orientation allows for many ocean-view homes and lower cost real estate within the hills and canyons. The coaster, San Diego’s commuter train, is a convenient alternative for commuters traveling into San Diego.

This fabulous beach community is booming with activity. Carlsbad has small town charm with many street side cafes and small boutique shops. Choose from the many international restaurants or enjoy music at one of the local night clubs.

The rise in growth of inhabitants has attracted more middle class and retirees, who can afford this perfect-weather paradise. The renowned Aviara Golf Course, Four Seasons Resort, and the La Costa Resort & Spa, which features two full courses and plenty of wealth. Carlsbad is certainly a golfer’s dream.

The average listing price for a home in 2005 was $854,764 and the average sale price was $839,805. The average age of residents in the area is 39 years out of an estimated population of 78,247. In the year 2001, almost 18% of the City’s population was age 60 or over.
