Parking Meters in La Jolla? JUST SAY “No”

August 8th, 2007 · No Comments

Jessica-pays-meter.jpgWe urge local residents of La Jolla to oppose the current proposal for “Paid On Street Parking” (commonly referred to as “Parking Meters”) in the Village. Part of La Jolla’s charm is the ability to come to this beautiful enclave, park your car and wander around the village. La Jolla parking meters will permanently damage the identity and charm of our scenic home.

You definitely should not have to pay to enjoy and support our community…”Feeding a meter” will be inconvenient if you need to go to the Village to check off a few items on your “to do” list… You will no longer be able to meander around the area… stopping to browse, meeting-up with friends and neighbors and just taking your time… Instead this will be replaced with how much longer do I have until my La Jolla parking meter expires… Our Village would loose its sense of community and belonging and charm.

We would like to encourage concerned residents to attend the La Jolla parking meeting on Wednesday, August 15, at 9:00 a.m., 1008 Wall Street, or contact the La Jolla Community Parking District at parking@lajollabythesea.com  Please note the urgency: the Community Parking District is moving quickly towards the implementation.
