Rising overseas interest in San Diego real estate ..

November 12th, 2007 · No Comments

The strength of the British pound, the Euro and the Canadian dollar vs. the American dollar can explain the growth of interest we have recently experienced from overseas buyers – in particular the Brits and Canadians interest in the real estate market of San Diego.

Potential buyers have been contacting us to weigh up the pros and cons of investing in a warmer stable climate such as San Diego (maybe the appeal of Florida has worn off?).  With the strength of their currency compared to ours and the current state of our real estate market San Diego is really starting to look like an attractive option!

Buyers have lots to choose from considering the current inventory of homes on the market – our real estate search site is geared toward the out of town buyer with lots of neighborhood information available.

telegraph.gifIt was also within this past month that we have been contacted by two British daily newspapers to gain insight on our market. We had a nice quote in the UK Telegraph and just this morning spoke with a reporter from the venerable London Times who also plans on reporting on the trend. We will be sure to post the London Times article once it has been published.
